Change SASSA Mobile Number Though Srd.sassa.gov.za
- The first thing you need to do is go to the SASSA website at srd.sassa.gov.za
- Locate on the page where it says “Update Your Contact Details”. Click on the link
- Type your ID number and the phone number you initially used when applying. Click the submit button.
- You will then be given instructions on how to update your mobile phone number
Change SASSA Mobile Number Using Application ID
The other way for you to change your mobile phone number is using your Application ID number. Do the following:-
- Go to https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/contact on the SASSA website
- You will be required to enter your South African ID and your application number. Submit the details
- You will then be asked to verify your details
- You will then be asked the reason why you are changing your phone number.
- After that, you will be asked to enter a new number.
- Enter the number and then an OTP will be sent to your new phone number
- Once you enter the number, your number will be changed successfully
For reapplications that you try to do, you will have to enter a SASSA OTP from your new phone number before you can proceed.

To update your phone number with SASSA, you will only need to provide your ID number and your application number. If you dont have an application number then you need your ID and old phone number.

2. Report to the Police: Report the loss of your cellphone to the nearest police station. Provide the reference number of your blacklisted cellphone when making the report.
3. Use Tracking Features: If you are feeling adventorous, try to track your phone using tracking features such as “Find My iPhone” for Apple devices or “Find My Device” for Android devices. Ive done this in the past for my phone where I was able to locate it. With these features, you are able to remotely locate, lock, or erase data from your phone to protect your security.
