In this article we are going to show you how to check your SASSA status. There are a number of ways that you can use to check your SASSA r30 grant status. These are
- The SRD SASSA website
- Through Moya App
- Through Phone Calls
- Visit your SASSA local office
To Withdaw your payments you need to own a SASSA card or the other alternative is for you to go to an ATM and withdraw the money.
Check SASSA Status Through srd.sassa.gov.za website
The first thing you need to do is visit this page https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status.
Once on that page enter your South African ID number and the phone number that you used to make your application the first time. Click on the “Submit” button to see your approval status and the payment date.
Make sure that you enter the correct details that you used in your application otherwise you will get an error message.

The other option is for you to check your status by calling the toll free number ie 0800601011. Through the phone call, you will be guided accordingly on what you need to do to check the status of your application or payments.
Check SASSA SRD Status By SMS
You also have the option of checking your status by sms. This services is not FREE. Here is what you need to do:-
- Write a new message and sent it to 32555.
- The message must be in the following format: STATUS <space> ID Number

You also have the option of visiting a SASSA office that is near you. Here is what to do
1. Visit the Nearest SASSA Office
Find the nearest SASSA office in your area. You can find it by asking around or searching the internet. I have given a list of local SASSA offices on my blog which you can check,
2. Bring Necessary Documents
When going to the SASSA office, dont forget to carry necessary documents such as your ID card and other docuements that you feel will be asked for.
3. Speak to a SASSA Official
Once at the SASSA office, go to the information or help desk and ask where you need to go to be given advice regarding the status of your application. You may asked to provide your reference number or other details related to your application.
4. Follow Up
If the SASSA official cannot provide you with immediate information, inquire about the expected processing time and any steps you can take to follow up on your application.
5. Use Online Services:
If the people at SASSA cannot help you or you find the place crowded, you might have to come online and check your status. Websites such as this one of mine will give you lots of good information on what you need to do to check your status online.
How Do I Know If My R350 is Approved?
You can visit the https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status page on the SASSA website, enter your ID number and phone number and the system will give the current status of your application
Errors When Checking Your Status
There are a number of messages or errors that can pop up when checking your status online. We will explain them in greater details below

Period Pending | The application has been duly received, but the verification process for the current period is still pending. |

Period Declined | Your application hasn’t been fully rejected; instead, it is temporarily on hold until the next payment period. |
Canceled application | Your application has not been approved. You should consider submitting a new application |
“SASSA status check reapplication pending” | If your recent income status has dropped below the poverty line, you have the option to request a reconsideration of your social relief grant (SRD) application for R350 until your financial situation improves. In the event that you submitted an appeal but omitted the SRD grant payment method, you will still be placed in a pending status for SRD reconsideration or reapplication pending R350 status. |
