When Does SASSA Pay in 2026?
SASSA pays social grants on set dates every single month. The date you are paid depends on which type of grant you receive. The table below shows the exact payment date for every month in 2026 for each grant type.

SRD R370 Grant — When Is It Paid?
The SRD grant works differently from all other SASSA grants. It does not have a fixed date on the 3rd or 5th of the month.
- Every month, SASSA automatically checks if you still qualify for the SRD grant by verifying your income and employment status.
- If you qualify that month, SASSA approves your payment. This is called your “monthly approval”.
- Once approved, your payment is processed within 5 to 10 working days. The money goes into the bank account or cellphone wallet you registered when you applied.
- SASSA will send you an SMS notification when your payment has been made, if you have a registered cellphone number.
- Check your status at srd.sassa.gov.za or send a WhatsApp to 082 046 8553.
